KIS continues our commitment to child-centered learning as we introduce our middle school program for grades 6 and 7 (ages 12-14 years old) in the fall of 2010. Our KIS middle school students continue their inquiry-based learning. Our grade 6 students will complete their International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program at the end of their year, capping it off with a PYP exhibition. Our grade 7 students continue moving forward with inquiry-based learning that is rigorous and comprehensive, helping to prepare them for real life demands in the 21st Century world.

At KIS, we recognize that the middle school years is a crucial time of adolescence for young people—a critical time of personal, social, physical, and intellectual development. We are designing our middle school program with the goal of producing confident students who have a strong sense of who they are in a fast-paced, interrelated world, as well as continue to nurture their lifelong love for learning
