Our elementary school students are fully immersed in the IB PYP, completing six Units of Inquiry throughout the year, along with English language arts and reading, mathematics, Russian, physical education, music and the arts, and computer class. Your Reception-aged child will experience all of this within a week at KIS, along with learning to model the IB Learner Profile and IB Attitudes throughout their day-to-day learning experiences.

Our bright, airy classrooms at KIS create an environment that is conducive to learning. Each KIS classroom is set up with a Smartboard and connected with state of the art information technology to maximize the effectiveness of instruction. Each KIS class is designed to be a true Smart Classroom.  Every student in the elementary school has computer access and will be trained on the use of computers to facilitate their education.

Elementary students, along with preschool and Reception class students, track their academic progress in “Portfolios,” designed for students to track their own growth as a learner throughout the year, as well as provide important communication with parents and teachers regarding their academic developments. The Portfolios will be kept in the classroom where students have access to them.
