KIS Finances

KIS is a nonprofit, or not-for-profit, international school.

This means that KIS as an organization does not distribute any surplus funds to owners or shareholders, but instead uses any surplus or profit to help KIS achieve its goals for development and growth.

While KIS is able to earn a profit, more accurately called a surplus, any such earnings are used to preserve the present institution of KIS, as well as the expansion and future growth of KIS.

Even as a nonprofit, KIS is required to put substantial funds into hiring and maintaining top-level leadership, management, faculty and teachers. Other than parent volunteers or university interns, KIS does not regularly employ unpaid volunteers.

In order to achieve our goals and targets, KIS implements the same methods developed by for-profit businesses, which includes effective management, accountability for results, and monitoring performance to achieve the maximum benefit from our capital and our KIS faculty/staff.
